Samuel Adams Steps Up

I was excited yesterday to find that my home brew supplier finally began receiving hops from the 2007 harvest season. But my glee was quickly subdued when I saw that prices had nearly tripled. Ouch. Now multiply my ouch by 100 and that’s probably about how all the professional craft brewers out there are feeling.

But kudos to Boston Beer for recognizing how serious the crisis is, and creating a program to resell 20,000 pounds of hops from their own supply to brewers in need. I don’t usually drink Sam Adams, but I will this week!
